Holiday Fun

COME HOME FOR THE HOLIDAYS Saturday, December 20, 2008, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.In addition to Campbell House Holidays activities, “Come Home for the Holidays” will feature Ignite! Community Theatre carolers singing ‘round the house and living history demonstrations. Take a walking tour of Browne’s Addition and then warm up with hot apple cider. Children can create popcorn garlands, holiday greeting cards, and historic ornaments and hats. Included in regular MAC admission. Free for MAC members.

CAMPBELL HOUSE HOLIDAYS December 20-31, 2008January 1, 200911 a.m. to 5 p.m.During the week surrounding Christmas and New Year's, Campbell House follows an open house format where visitors can tour the house on their own, listen to local music students play the Campbell House piano (times vary), watch historic cooking demonstrations in the kitchen and check out the special display of historic artifacts; including period dresses, World War I mementos and antique calling card cases. The decorated house is open for regular tours Tuesday through Friday, November 20 – December - 21. Located on the MAC campus in Browne’s Addition, Campbell House was designed by the acclaimed architect Kirtland Cutter and built in 1898. Campbell House and all activities are included in regular MAC admission. Free for MAC members.

Horse & Carriage Rides - Dashing Through Downtown
Experience the wonder of an old fashioned holiday season Downtown with free holiday horse and carriage rides presented by the Downtown Spokane Business Improvement District and STCU. Riders will receive free candy canes and coupons for coffee and hot chocolate specials at participating Downtown coffeehouses.
Horse & Carriage Schedule:

November 28th through Christmas Eve
Fridays, 3-8:00 p.m., Saturdays and Sundays, 12-5:00 p.m.,
Christmas Eve 12-3:00 p.m.
Pick-up on Wall Street at Main Avenue

  1. We did the carriage ride last year and loved it! It's free, although there is a tip jar, and I'll probably take a few dollars to put in this year. The coffee coupons are great! You even get music/words for Christmas carols to sing with all the strangers you are riding with :) Be ready to wait for your turn, it's a popular free event!
    The tour of the Campbell House at Christmas sounds great! I've just been there once before in the spring. Thanks for the tip Jenessa!
