Courage

Deuteronomy 31:6 Be strong and of good courage, do not fear not be afraid of them; {enemies} for the Lord your God, He is the One who goes with you. He will not leave you nor forsake you.

What a promise!

The second principle of my list of values to teach Preston is Courage. Remember, the goal is to teach this both by the word of God and as an example.

My notes is my bible say that courage comes from knowing that God is with us and will not forsake us.

Lord I pray that Preston will grow up to be a man of courage and that He will hold fast to the promise that you will never leave or forsake him. I pray that Dave will be courageous by knowing you are in control of his everyday circumstances and you are in control of his future. I pray that you help me to be courageous by letting Preston be in the care of others. And to know that when I can't physically be with him, You are there.

  1. Very well said! I love that you are doing this little "series"/list of values. You are so courageous just to put it all out there, then again you do it so well.

  2. That is really cool Ness, I'm sure you will be a wonderful example of courage for Preston, and for Dave too. Thanks for sharing this, I love when other parents put something out there that makes me think and inspires me about what I need to be and do for my kids too. Courage is an extrememly important value for kids today, there is so much that they'll need to stand strong against...I'll have a middle schooler in a year and may end up having her back in public school...I think I'm going to need a lot of courage too.
