Last Wednesday, our last bible study from the Raising Responsive Children series was on prayer. It was such an amazing study, it was kind of overwhelming because it was filled with so much good information that I didn't want to forget it all! Then I start to feel panicky not peaceful, like I should. I need to remember to take it one day at a time. I guess it is just my all or nothing personality that I feel like I need to pray for everything and everyone today, right now. That would be a tall order! So...I am going to copy Christian form Who Would've Thought? and start my own prayers for my family (remember to be copied is a form of flattery:))

There was a chart from our bible study that was called Valuing What God Values. It gives a list of Gods principles that we should be teaching our children both by the word of God and by example. It's offers a good place to start. The first principle is: Love God.

Deuteronomy 6:5 You shall love the Lord your God with all you heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength.

Lord I pray that Preston will love you with all of his heart, soul and strength. And that Dave and I would love you above anything else, and that we would be able to love others through your love in us.

  1. I agree that last chapter was a bit overwhelming (+ the handouts she gave us). I'm sure I'll be referring to that book often to get me back on track. It was a great bible study! I would highly recommend it.
