the meaning of Christmas to me

Though my sins are like scarlet they shall be white like snow.
Though they are red like crimson they shall be like wool.
Isaiah 1:18

Christmas is not about the presents, the cookies, the shopping....
It is about heaven. And that Jesus came so that one day we can live with Him there.
It is about forgiveness of sins.

I may not have all my shopping done, I may not have made cookies like I anticipated, my house may not be immaculately decorated. (Although my front yard is a winter wonderland!) I have been forgiven.

I have the only thing I want or need this Christmas Eve. Forgiveness. It is a free gift to me, but it is one that came at a great cost to the One who gave it to me. I am forever grateful and amazed.

I wish every one a very Merry Christmas!

  1. Amen! I am realizing that it is not even about family like everyone says, it is about Christ. It took a sick boy and the possibility of not seeing family to realize this. I love being together but it is about Jesus sitting on the throne.

  2. i told myself that i would have a very merry christmas even if we got stuck at home with all of our presents in another town already! because, yes, put simply, it's not about the 'stuff'. :)

isn't it great and wonderful to be forgiven?! :)
