favorite quotes & bible verses

i've been having a lot of fun lately-reading and finding quotes and new {to me} bible verses. here are some of my favorites:

...for she loved much. luke 7:47
lord, i believe; help my unbelief. mark 9:24
{not that i would put this on a journal, i just like, i think it is very appropriate for hard times-thanks ang!}
...my soul follows close behind you. psalm 63:8
make your way straight before my face. psalm 5:8b
housekeeping aint no joke. -hannah from little women
a room without books is like a body without a soul.-Chesterton
it is only with the heart that one can see rightly. what is essential is invisible to the eye.
-the fox to the little prince
she gives most who gives with joy. -mother theresa
we shall never know all the good that a simple smile can do. -mother theresa
now this one is really a favorite, that martin luther was one smart fella! ---i have held many things in my hands, and i have lost them all; but whatever i have placed in Gods hands i still possess. -martin luther
here is another one from martin luther. -peace if possible, truth at all costs.
and more...thre is no more lovely, friemdly, and charming relationship, communion or good company than a good marriage.
and last but not least...you are not only responsible for what you say, but for what you don't say.
i think martin luther sure dishes out some great advice. having grown up in the Lutheran church he has become an interesting person to me. it has been a goal of mine for a long time to learn more about him. there are numerous books, biographys etc at the library. i mean to read them, well, at least one of them some day soon. i also want to watch the movie Luther. has anyone seen it?
a few more:
let the sun shine.-thoreau
one joy shatters a hundred griefs. -chinese proverb
seek peace. psalm 34:14

  1. These are really good ones!

    I'd be interested to learn more about Martin Luther as well. I didn't know there was a movie about him... I'll have to look for it.

  2. I watched Luther. It was a good movie, although I wish they had expanded the different phases of his life a little more.

    What are you reading right now? I am reading two books about homeschooling and one called The Imitation of Christ by Thomas a Kempis. It is taking me a long time, I have to look every other word up in the dictionary!!

  3. Also, I love Mark 9:24 and quote it often. I have a hard time just TRUSTING that Gods got it under control.
