Banners on a Christmas tree are a great way to get a full
decorative look withoutall the breakable ornaments, in
case you have little hands or paws around.

I know it's really, really early to think Christmas. {unless your Stephani*wink} but we have a little boy who has anxiously been waiting for Christmas since the grand opening of Hobby Lobby this past summer! If you've never had the chance to go to Hobby Lobby they have a year round Christmas section, and well if your a little boy who is already fascinated with lights then you would be in heaven to see a section of trees with lights that blink and trees that spin!  This weekend I did a craft show and I got out a few Christmas decorations for props which led to Preston discovering the Christmas bins and there was no stopping him! Every day he carries up one decoration at a time {because that's all he can carry} several times a day.  We have quite a mix of decorations. A wise man here, a donkey there, a Christmas ostrich egg over there. Yeah, I said Christmas ostrich egg, don't tell me you don't have one?!?

Anyways.....I decided to make some Christmassy banners. I think I like the scalloped look better than the triangles, don't you? They seem a bit more fanciful or feminine. I made the ones on the piano using all velum so they are really pretty.  If anyone wants to come over and have a banner making party I'm all for it-you can't have too many banners, right!?!

  1. I will come over and make banners with you.....and also, I DO have an ostrich egg! Imagine that! :)

  2. Yeah, it's never too early for Christmas in our house. ;)
    Love the banners, good idea!
And I'm feeling left out because I don't have a Christmas ostrich egg, I think I'm going to have to find one...

  3. I'll be right over;-) Hey- it just so happens that I DO have a Christmas ostrich egg too! Let's start a club.

  4. Hey, I have an egg too. I am so glad I get to be in the club :)

I love the banners! Such a fun was to dress things up.

  5. It must be a family ritual thingy, but Im family and I DONT have a Christmas ostrich egg and Im feeling very left out. I love the banners Ness, what a great way to use up scrapbook paper, Im making these cute little scrapbooks for my kids at school. They are star books, and will have a lot of left over paper.
