I am loving this rain. It is a nice break from the summer sun.
I loved listening to it through my open bedroom window as I fell asleep and I love that it is still raining this morning!
A rainy day is a holiday. An excuse to let the ordinary tasks of the daily life go undone while you do things that don't normally get your time or attention. Like build forts and make cookies. A rainy day allows time for extra cuddles on the couch and reading just one more book. A rainy day allows you to stay in your warm, cozy jammies just a little bit longer than you normally would. It's even a holiday for my mind as I lay on the couch and think of nothing but just listen to rain drops on our metal awning.
Today, I welcome the rain and the respite from the ordinary that it brings!
This is the day that the Lord has made, I will rejoice and be glad in it.
